Chengyu LIU’s Curriculum Vitae

Chengyu LIU, currently works as a professor of linguistics and Dean of the College of International Studies, Southwest University. He got his PhD degree in linguistics at Xiamen University, and then as a post-doctoral research fellow at Sun Yat-Sen University. His major research interests include: systemic functional linguistics, discourse studies, stylistics, multilingualism and multilingual education. So far, he has published over 50 papers and 5 books in these fields. He worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign between 2003 and 2004, and as a visiting professor at Hong Kong City University in 2012. He worked as Deputy Dean of the College of International Studies, Southwest University between 2008 and 2015, and then as Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Southwest University between 2015 and 2017. He is currently working as a member of the editing Committee of the journal Asian-Pacific Journal of Second / Foreign Language Education (Springer), executive editor of the journal Foreign Language Education (Foreign Language Press, Beijing, China), and also as reviewers of Asian Ethnicity, Journal of Bilingualism and Bilingual Education, Functional Linguistics (Springer), Cognitive Linguistics Studies (John Benjamins), Functional Linguistics (Routledge), Modern Foreign Languages (Guangzhou, China), Journal of Northeast University (Shenyang, China), Journal of Southwest University (Chongqing, China), Journal of Beijing University of Science and Technology (Bejing, China), Beijing University of Forestry (Beijing, China), Journal of Dalian University of Science and Technology (Dalian, China).
